Over the past few months Monaghan Coaching staff delivered coaching courses to Transition Year students from the following schools Ballybay Community College, Patrician High School, Largy College and Inver College Carrick. These course’s was delivered over one day and required the students to complete a number of practical based coaching activities.
In addition to the above courses a pilot online Foundation Course was delivered to Transition Year students in St Macartan College. This course required students to complete face to face practical tasks and also complete a number of modules online. Furthermore these students also undertook a Child Protection Workshop. This was the first time in Monaghan that this type of course was delivered and plans are in place to roll it out to other schools in the next School year.
Monaghan Coaching Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank all the schools and students who participated in these courses. The purpose of these courses is to expose these young students who have a keen interest in playing Gaelic games an opportunity to understand the process to follow when coaching. Additionally they receive coaching qualifications and experience which will allow them to apply for upcoming Summer camp work.
Below is a selection of photos from each of the Schools who took part.
