Seniors –The Senior team had a relatively good week, they started with a good win over local neighbours Doohamlet last Wednesday night, followed by a hard earned draw versus Clontibret on Sunday afternoon. The performances have been improving over the last few weeks, with some very good passages of play in the last few league games. This Sunday at 2 o’clock, the senior team will make the short trip to Aughnamullen for the first round of the Senior Championship to play Ballybay. While Ballybay will go in as favourite, one would be foolish to write of the Famous Green and Gold at Championship time. Best of luck to everyone involved, can we ask that all supporters come out to cheer on the team. We will return to league action with a home game against Magherclone on Wednesday 23rd of May with a throw in time of 8pm.

Under 12 – The last round of games of this year’s Spring League took place when the young Faughs travelled to Latton last Saturday. First up were the Development team, who put in a great shift, showing their skills and ability to the large number of parents in attendance .On a day when everything went well for the team there were some good performances from Pauric Bolger, Joe Carey and Jodie McQuillan. The team finished second in their group. Next up were the Senior team and after ten minutes they looked comfortably in control, with the team using the strong breeze to good effect, at half time the boys were four scores up .The second half saw a resurgent Latton pile the pressure on the boys and with three minutes to go they drew level but these young Faughs are made of tough stuff, with firstly Conall McHugh followed by Niall Rice notching two wonderful points to see the boys win. Best on the days for the young Faughs were Conor McCooey , Ian Kindlon, and Conor Mulligan. Next up for two Under 12 teams will be the County Finals day in Cloghan on Saturday 24th of May. Well done boys, there have been some great performances so far this year; let’s keep it up at training.
Under 12 Girls – The girls under 12 team travel the short distance to Cloghan last Saturday to play in the Ulster Blitz, we were able to field two teams both of whom competed extremely well, against strong opposition like Clan Na Gael from Armagh, Dungiven from Derry and Donaghmoyne. These girls are putting in a great effort and are definitely a team to watch out for in the future.
