Reserve League Division 1A: Scotstown Reserves suffered their first defeat of the season at O’Neill Park, Clontibret on Saturday evening when a goal in each half for the hosts made the difference. Clontibret registered a goal with their first attack of the game, but Scotstown regrouped to go in at the break just two points behind at 1-6 to 0-7. In a low scoring second half, Scotstown hit three points to take the lead for the first time. The lead was short lived though, with the hosts converting a penalty in the closing minutes to win by four points – 2-9 to 0-11.

Substitutes used: Shane Rice, Ruairi Sheehan. Next up is a home fixture against Truagh on Friday night at 7pm.​

 

Minors: Our minor team was out against St Pat’s on Tuesday last, see result elsewhere. Then on 8th April they have a home game against Carrick at 7pm

 

TYDAVNET HANDBALL: The Anthony Cadden / Cathal Higgins handball tournament reaches its climax tonight Thursday with the two semi-finals and final due to take place in the Scotstown alley. The first semi-final will be between Conor Mohan who will play either Mickey Eoin McMahon or Raymond Leonard. The second semi-final will be between Paul Cassidy and Patrick McMahon. The action gets underway at 7pm.Well done to Paul Cassidy who along with Conor McDonnell won the All Ireland Silver Masters B doubles title at the weekend. This was a great achievement and the last time an All-Ireland medal came to the club was in 2000 when Cathal Higgins along with Mickey Todd won the All Ireland Golden Masters B doubles final.

Easter Camp: Monaghan Coaching & Games Development will be running their annual 3 days Easter Camp for all juvenile members which will be taking place in Kilmore between April 22nd and 24th and anyone who would like further information should contact David Mc Cague @0876202242

 

U12s: Under 12 training on Mondays and Wednesdays between 6-7pm. There will be training this Saturday morning 5th April at 11am as both U12 teams have a bye in their spring league. The results didn’t go well for the two U12 teams last week as they were beaten by Emyvale in the spring league.

 

U14DIV 5: Next match on Saturday 5th April at home to Carrick

 

U16 DIV 1: Round one of the league gets underway on Thursday 3rd April at home to Monaghan Harps at 6.30pm. Then on Thursday 10th April away to Truagh at 6.30pm

 

U16 DIV 4: Start their season on 10th April against Rockcorry away.

 

Club Shop: Sale continues in the Club Shop at Kilmore this Friday night from 7-8pm.

 

Generous Donation: At our meeting last Thursday, our Chairman acknowledged a Big Thank you to a Club member, who wanted to remain anonymous on their generous donation to the Scotstown Club. It was very appreciative and the club was able to avail of new gym equipment. So again, thank you.

 

Bereavements: The Club would like express their condolences to the family and relatives of the late Jimmy Treanor, Milltown and to the family and relatives of the late Martina Hughes, Tyholland.

 

Bar Rota: Week beginning 14th – 20th April, the Bar Rota team on duty will be Stephen McKenna and Conor Foley.

Reserve League DIV 1: Round 3 of reserve league on Sunday 6th April at home to Aughnamullen at 12noon.

 

U14 DIV 1: Ladies U14s are at home to O’Neill’s on Monday 7th April at 6.45pm

 

U16s: Round one of U16 league is due to start on Thursday 10th April at home to O’ Neill’s at 6.45pm

 

Seniors: Senior Ladies has a Round 3 DIV 2 match on Friday 11th April at 6.45pm at home to O’Neill’s
