County Board Meeting

The April Meeting took place in the Glencarn Hotel on Wednesday evening last where the Chairperson Gary Carville welcomed all present and thanked everyone for their support during the bereavement of his Father.

The Secretary, Marie Greenan reported on issues surrounding the new registration programme.

Development

Clubs were encouraged to participate in the Easter camogie one day camp, which is taking place today Thursday 17th  April from 10am to 2pm, for 6-12 year olds. Cost is €5 and each girl will receive a t-shirt, key ring and wristband. This should be a great day’s fun and an ideal opportunity as children are on holiday from school.

Competitions for 2014

A discussion regarding competition structures took place, and with just two Senior Teams, namely Clontibret and Castleblayney participating in the 15 a side. This will mean they will contest the Senior Championship and Senior League. A new structure would have to be put in place so as to involve Inniskeen and Truagh who are both struggling for numbers. It was decided to hold a fixtures meeting on Monday last in the Westenra Hotel.

 

Draft fixtures were drawn up and to be ratified at the May meeting:-

The Senior Championship will take place on August 31st.

A 12 – a- side “B” Championship was inaugurated to facilitate  Inniskeen and Truagh and the Board will designate a panel of eligible players from Clontibret and Castleblayney

A 7 a side Blitz will take place on Sunday 3rd. Aug with two teams from Castleblayney and Clontibret and one each from Inniskeen and Truagh.

 

Cake Sale

With Lent coming to an end, why not satisfy your taste buds and come along to the Scout Hall in Castleblayney on Good Friday 1 – 3pm and 4 – 6pm where there will be lots of goodies on sale with the proceeds going to the Castleblayney Camogs.
