Under 12s’: Eire Og Under 12s’ continued on their winning ways with a comprehensive victory over their near neighbours Killeevan in Railway Park on Saturday last. Played in cold but otherwise excellent conditions, the first period was closely contested by both sides. Eire Og drew first blood but Killeevan replied immediately and held a one point lead half way through the first period. Eire Og finished the period the better and went in holding a two point lead on the scoreline of 0-4 to 0-2. Both sides played nice passages of football in the “non-competitive” period that followed. The beginning of the third period is where our lads took a firm grip on the game with a run of 10 unanswered points many of them of the highest order from distance. During this period our defence kept the Killeevan attack very quiet conceding only one point in the final twenty minutes. Eire Og finished the period as they began it with another run of well take points to leave the final winning margin convincing if a little flattering. With two wins under their belt now this group are progressing nicely under the stewardship of Mike Hamill and Gary McCaffrey. The panel on duty for Eire Og on Saturday was Lauren Brady,Oisin Burke,Michael Cadden,Dylan Corley,Conal Duffy,Caolan Gavan,Liam Hamill,Hannah Hughes,Gary Kerr,Patrick Lambe,Kyle McAree,Matthew McBride,Oisin McElroy,Ben Monahan,Fearne Monahan and Ciara Smyth.

Mens Reserves – Eire Og entertained Aughnamullen on Sunday last in the Div 2 League. Both teams came into the game on the back of 100% records – having won their opening 2 games. From the start it was obvious that Eire Og would have their work cut off to take anything from this contest. Aughnamullen were sharper, more focussed and stronger in most positions on the field. However having said that only 2 points separated the teams at the halfway mark, Eire Og’s forwards lived off scraps. The 2nd half was to see Aughnamullen put the game beyond doubt with 3 unanswered goals. Final Score Eire Og 1-06 Aughnamullen 4-16. Next game is away to neighbours Sean McDermotts on Saturday evening at 7pm.
