Donaghmoyne Notes

By Majella Boyd Wed 23rd Apr

Lotto:

Due to the Easter weekend this weeks lotto results will be posted next week.

Seniors:

The Intermediate Football League resumed last week as our Seniors took on Cremartin at home last Wednesday evening. This was a tight encounter throughout. Donaghmoyne played second fiddle with Cremartin for most of the opening half, but a resurged home side dominated the second half. They clawed back the deficit and at full time they were one point victors after a nervy last few minutes. This meant they continued their unbeaten start to the seaspn. Next Wednesday evening they look to continue that run as they take on neighbours Iniskeen away from home at 7.45. Make the short trip to Iniskeen next Wednesday and get behind the team.

Minors:

Our Minors had their fifth game of the season at home to Scotstown on Tuesday evening last, see official results for the result. Next Tuesday evening they take on Killany away from home at 7.30. Come support the lads as they look to go into the break on a high.

U16s:

Our U16s continued their league campaign at home to Mageracloone on Thursday evening last. This was a tight encounter from start to finish which the lads put everything into but unfortunately they couldn’t get a result as they went down to a 3 point defeat. They will look to bounce back this Thursday evening as they take on Truagh at home at 7 o clock, please come and show your support.

U14s:

The U14s had their third league game at home to Ballybay last Saturday morning. The lads fought hard throughout but couldn’t get the result they were hoping for as they were beaten. Training continues Saturday morning at 10.45.

U12s:

On Saturday morning both our U12 sides have the 4th  round of their Spring league competitions away from home against Castleblayney. The first game throws in at 12 and the second throws in at 1.15. Make the short trip to Castleblayney on Saturday morning to show your support for our stars of the future.

Mini Fontenoys:

Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars.

Lotto Sellers Wanted:

Any children in the parish who would be interested in taking up a lotto selling route would be more than welcome as we would like to cover more and as much of the parish as possible. Each child selling lottos will also receive a commission. Anyone interested can contact Brian on 0872915864.

Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.

Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:

The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.

Club Merchandise:

Donaghmoyne GFC’s 2014 Club Range is now coming soon! We will be selling lots of different items such as jumpers, half zips, t-shirts, bottoms etc. You will pay when placing orders and at no other stage. Details of prices and when orders can be placed will be coming soon, keep an eye on the clubs Twitter and Facebook pages for further details.
