Seniors
Congratulations to our reserve team who qualified for the semi-final of the Development Hurling League last week, defeating Monaghan Harps on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-8. Blayney were on top for most of the game but found it difficult to shake off a resilient Harps team. In the end, two goals from Ciaran McBride and an impressive performance from Gerry Brady proved the difference between the teams. Blayney team: P Mone, B Connolly, E Leonard, G O’Brien, A Nugent, D Connolly, P Collins, J Lacey (0-5), N Adair (0-2), J Deasy, C McBride (2-0), W Funcheon, G Brady (1-1), B Connor, K McCooey, S Forde, P Malone.
Our senior team travelled to Tyrone to take on Naomh Columcille in the Ulster Senior League. After a number of false starts in the competition this was the first game of the campaign. Unfortunately the result did not go our way and the game finished on a scoreline of Blayney, 5-5; Naomh Columcille 3-15. Best for Blayney were Bernard Connor, Declan Crowe, Paddy Finnegan and Peter Treanor.
Our next senior game is tonight (Thursday) in the SHL away to Inniskeen
