Seniors: The Seniors play their second game of the league on Friday night next at home to Eire Og at 7pm. Note change of time

 

Reserves: The Reserves still remain unbeaten in the league where they had a comfortable victory over Rockcorry on Saturday evening last. This was a game where they lead from start to finish and credit is extended to them anyway on to the game a good start was enjoyed with a brace of points from Colin Clerkin and Edmond Mc Ardle left 3 points to the good after the first number of minutes but credit to Rockcorry they reduced the lead but a superb solo effort by midfielder Lee Conlon and a good goal scored by David Shevlin left them 6 points up and scores were got on each side especially a point by Corner Back Alan Sheridan( definitely one for the record books) to leave it 1-07 to 0-03 at the break.  Into the second half a number of points by Rockcorry reduced the lead to 5 but a goal by Colin Clerkin effectively sealed the match and there were further points by Colin Clerkin, James Keenan, Lee Conlan and Colin Fox left the final score 2-13 to 0-11 in favour of the home side. Next game is on the 23rd April away to Carrickmacross. Minors: The Minors played at home to Inniskeen on Tuesday night last check result elsewhere for details

 

Under 16: The Under 16 played their first game in the league away to Sean Mc Dermotts this was a game they won by 9 points and credit must be given to this very young side. Playing with the wind they led by 12 points at half time with scores from Michael Bannigan (1-4), Darren Geoghegan (1-1), Tiernan Duffy(1-2) and Shane Forde(0-1) to lead by 3-08 to 0-05. Into the second half Seans came back into the game with 3 quick fire goals to reduce the lead to 3 but a number of fine scores by the aforementioned Bannigan (2-04), Stephen Mc Gee(1-01), Darren Geoghegan(0-1) and Tiernan Duffy(0-1) to leave the final score 6-15 to 5-09 in favour of the blues. Next game is on Thursday (Tonight) at home to Emyvale at 6 30pm. All support welcome. Under 14: The Under 14 qualified for the Semi Final of the Under 14 Championship where they had an excellent victory over a gallant Inniskeen on Saturday morning last. This was a game where they led by 12 points at half time however Inniskeen came back at them and actually led going into injury time but the lads stood firm and scored a goal and 2 points in injury time to eventually win by 1 point on a scoreline of 5-18 to 8-08. Anyway onto the game Aughnamullen played with the wind and ran into a good lead with scores from Darren Geoghegan (1-0), Jack Mc Brien (0-3), Aaron Mc Gee (1-1), Shane Forde (0-1),  Ryan Connolly (0-1), Jason Duffy (0-1), Tiernan Duffy (2-2) to lead at half time 4-09 to 2-03. Into the second half Inniskeen came out fighting and reduced the lead and entering the final quarter the lead was cut to the minimum but back came fighting was our lads with scores by Tiernan Duffy, Kieran Marron and Darren Geoghegan but Inniskeen grabbed a goal to go into a 3 point lead but straight up the field came our boys with a great goal by Shane Forde to level the game and they scored a number of crucial points by affoementioned Geoghegan, and Tiernan Duffy to emerge victorious by 1 point. Next game is at home to Truagh in the Semi final on Saturday week 19th April. Best wishes is extended to Kieran Duffy who received a nasty injury during this match. Dates to Keep Free: There is great weekend coming up in anticipation for this August. Starting on 9th/10th/11th August there will be a number of events including Mock Wedding and Kilkitt School Reunion. More details in the next few weeks and months.
