FIXTURES:

 

Senior League: Scotstown seniors start their season with a home league match against Monaghan Harps on Sunday at 4pm

 

Junior League: Our junior league gets underway on Sunday 23rd March with a home game against Toome at 2pm. There will be a double header on Sunday 23rd March.

 

Minors: The minor league is due to start on Tuesday 25th Mar with a home game against Monaghan Harps at 5.45pm

 

Reserve League Division 1A: Scotstown Reserves made it two wins out of two with an eight point victory at Latton on Sunday. They lead by eight points to four at the break, and continued with a strong second half showing to finish comfortably ahead in the end. Team and scorers: Cian Mohan; Matthew McCague, Ciaran Treanor, Ross McKenna (0-1); Barry McMeel, Fergal McPhillips, Paul Sherlock; David McCague, Paul Grant (0-1); Tommy Moyna, Orin Heaphey (0-4), Mark Treanor (0-2); Conor Caulfield (1-4), Sean Mohan, Brian McGinnity. Substitutes used: Stephen Sherry, Shane Rice, Michael McCarville, Adrian Carbin. Next match will be away to Clontibret on Sunday 30th March at 12:30pm.

 

Registration Weekend: A Club Registration weekend will take place this weekend (20th – 23rd March) to give members the opportunity to pay their 2014 dues, and for new members to sign up. The Registration Weekend will run in the Complex from 7-9pm this Thursday, Friday &Saturday and from 12.30pm-2pm on Sunday. The club membership fee for 2014 is due by the end of March. Adult membership is €30, and Juvenile membership is €20. Contact Registrar Frankie McCarey on 086-8285777 for more details.

 

Scór Sinsir: The Club had no success on Friday last in the Ulster semi-final of Scór, our Instrumental group of Eimear & Orla Mc Cague, Garbhan & Brian Harraghy and James Sherry performed well on the night, as did our Quiz Team of Seamus Treacy, Ian Mc Quaid, Seamus & Martin Mullen. Paddy Sherlock competed in the Recitation. The Club acknowledges your appreciation in the participating of Scór Sinsir.

 

NFL DIV 2: The Monaghan team made another positive move for promotion with a 10pt win over Armagh last Saturday night. Darren Hughes made a welcome return to football when introduced late on in the second half and scored a stoppage time goal, with Kieran Hughes covering a lot of ground & scoring a point and Rory Beggan denied Armagh their opening score on 16mins with a brilliant penalty save, particularly when Monaghan were 9pts up at this stage, Rory also made an another important save in the second half as Monaghan went out comfortable winners by 1-17 to 10pts.

Spring League: Both U12 teams played Monaghan Harps last Saturday. Our B team had a good win, while our A team were ahead at half time, the Harps used the wind to good advantage in the second half to come out on top with a good win.

 

U14 DIV 1: Our first team is at home to Inniskeen on Saturday 22nd Mar at 1.15pm

U14DIV 5: Our second team is at home to Inniskeen on Saturday 22nd Mar at 12 noon

 

Birthday Wishes: Best wishes to Michael Kerley, Edenbrone who celebrated his 70th Birthday with family and friends in the sports complex last Saturday.

Club Shop: Sale now on in the Club Shop at Kilmore this weekend. The shop will be open from 6:30pm until 8pm on Friday, and from 11am until 12 noon on Saturday.

 

Ladies:

 

Ladies Seniors: The Scotstown Ladies Senior team began their season with a 3-11 to 3-4 win against Aughnamullen. With the aid of a strong wind at Páirc Mhuire, the home side built up a healthy lead by half-time. The visitors were unable to reverse the deficit in the second half, and Scotstown secured the victory with seven points to spare in the end. Scotstown will be away to Donaghmoyne C team in their next fixture on the weekend on March 29th.

 

Ladies Under-14s: The girls will be away at Tyholland in their first League Division 1 fixture on Monday, March 31st at 6:45pm.

 

Bar Rota: Week beginning 24th-30th March the Bar Rota team on duty will be Kevin Connolly, Gene McKenna & Michael Owen McMahon
