Juniors
Drumhowan 0g 11p
Killanny 2g 13p
A great start to the league with a victory over Drumhowan on Sunday last . Declan McGlew didn’t put a foot wrong in goals, the full back line anchored by Ronan Duffy and ably assisted by Adam Kiernan and Donal McArdle were dolid throughout. Half back line on Conor Vernon and Cian Whakley and Cillian Leegan who made several attacks and was awarded with a point. A towering performances from Tiernan Duffy and Dayrl Traynor at midfield made sure our forwards got the fair share of ball. Half forwards of Michael Vernon and Kevin Crawley had quiet games but Stephen McMahon on the forty slotted home 2 goals. Eddie Markey on the square made some great runs and created plenty of space flanked by Andrew Kiernan and old reliable Peter Dooley who scored 8 points from frees. Subs were Michael Quinn for Kevin Crawley and Tommy Kierans for Cillian Leegan.
U14 MATCH REPORT
We started our league campaign with an away match to our neighbours Donaghmoyne on Saturday last. There were plenty of goals from both sides with Donaghmoyne hitting the net just 5 minutes into the match. We responded quickly and traded score for score with the opposition until the final quarter when Donaghmoyne got a number of unanswered scores and ran out winners in the end with a scoreline of 9-8 to 5-9 respectively. While we didn’t win this match the team performed well and can take take a lot of positives from it and build on these during the league campaign. This was our first outing with this new team formation and we settled well as a unit as the match progressed and we hope that this will continue in future matches. Our outing is a home match against Latton on April 5th.Team as follows: Ciaran O’Reilly, Ciaran Guinan,Jack Guinan, Oisin Burns,Kian Duffy,Kyle Connolly,Conor Callaghan,Sean Finn,Aodhan Mc Connon,Darren Leegan,Tiernan O’Brien,Cian Fitzgerald,David Leegan,Ciaran Walsh,Mark Lambe.
