Seniors:
Intermediate League:
All roads led to Saint Oliver Plunkett Park Emyvale on Saturday evening for the 1st Round of The Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League. The first quarter was fairly even until Emyvale found the net in the 15th minute to go on and rattle the net again in the 24th minute. Emyvale had the advantage of the wind in the first half which they used to good effect. However Corduff kept chipping away at the Emyvale lead and by the interval were 3 points behind on a scoreline of Emyvale 2-02 Corduff 0-05. The introduction of Cathal Connolly added a new dimension to the Corduff performance and they dominated the opening quarter of the 2nd half. They continued to add to their tally and by the 15th minute in the second half were even with Emyvale. After a great run of play Cathal Connolly found the net putting Corduff ahead. However Emyvale picked up the pace again scoring a rally of points with only 1 in reply from Corduff. Emyvale finished winners on a scoreline of 2-10 Corduff 1-11 to a huge roar from their supporters. Corduff team was as follows Raymond Byrne, Gerry Mee, Declan Larkin, Ciaran Brennan, Ben Woods, John McEnaney, Keith McEnaney 0-1, Mark McEnaney, Shane Connolly, Christopher M Enaney, Padraic Keenan 0-1, Gareth King, Jason Hand 0-3, Martin Mills 0-2, Brendan McNally0-4, Cathal Connolly 1-0, Shane Malone and Lee McArdle.. Despite the fact that spring has sprung there was an icy breeze in the air but that didn’t keep the Corduff supporters at home so well done on making the journey. The next outing for Seamus McEnaney and his panel is against Donaghmoyne at home on Sunday April 13th.
