Executive Meeting in the Creighton next Thursday at 8pm.  All executive members are requested to attend.

Monaghan V Laois: As Monaghan continue in the hunt for promotion, this must win game takes place in St.Tiarnach’s park this Sunday with a 2pm throw-in.  Volunteers are required for the car-parks and shops, contact Tom Kelly.

Easter Camps are being organised for 5 to 12 year olds over the Easter break, this was a phenomenal success last year and Clones had the largest numbers in the whole county.  There’s a free hoodie for every child, cost is €40 per child, €35 for second child.  Our future club and county stars are out there mol na h’oige agus tiocfaidh said.  Book your place with Joanne, Phelim or directly with Paul O’Connor on 0868374827.

Seniors: training continues on Sunday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.  We had our first outing in the league against Donaghmoyne away on Sunday.  With the sun shining and a real sense of spring in the air there was huge anticipation for this first game of the season.  In what was a very experimental team combining youth with some of the lads from the minor double winning team along with the maturity of our stalwarts and the forever young Martin Slowey rolling back the years at full forward.  Donaghmoyne enjoyed the better of the first half but with the score at 0:07 to 0:04 at half time Clones were still in with a shout in this game considering that they’d missed a fair few chances.  But a ten minute scoring frenzy from the home team at the start of the second half put pay to any hope of a Clones comeback, FT Donaghmoyne 3:13 to Clones 0:08.  Our next game is a home fixture against Cremartin on the 12th of April, throw-in 7pm.  Team: Colin McCaughey, Kevin Reilly, Paul Shiels, Paul Connolly, James MacElwain, Micheal Treanor, Ben Daly, Emmet McEntee, John McDonald, Ethan Audley, Adrian Alford(0:01), Sarto Quigley, Darren Freeman, Marty Slowey, David Freeman(0:05F).  Subs used Ciaran Kelly, Cian O’Connor (0:01), Colm Connolly (0:01).

Reserves:  after a couple of disappointing results the reserves will be looking to get back to winning ways this Sunday against Blackhill away, players are asked to note the earlier throw-in time of 12pm to facilitate the earlier throw-in time of the County game in Clones which has now been revised to 2pm.

U21’s continue to train with the seniors, there are no competitive games until July, challenge games are being organised currently by their mentor Daragh Holland.

Minors’ training continues this Thursday and last years Division 3 double champions are playing their first game against Clontibret on the 8th April.

U16’s training continues as normal this week, but moves to two days from next week. Last seasons champions renew rivalry away to Doohmalet next Thursday in Rd1 of the league, throw in 6:30pm and I’m sure the lads would love to see support for the away team.

Under14’s training continues every Tuesday in Killeevan.  They played Rockcorry away, in the first round of the league on Saturday last in what was a thrilling game or both players and spectators.  Two goals in the last four minutes of the game by Rockcorry saw them edge the contest by two points 7:15 to 8:10.  Team: Niall McKenna, Jamie Scott(0:02), Ben Slowey, Dwayne Reavey, Eanna Fitzpatrick, Conal Smyth(0:01), Kevin Coogan, Alan Curley(1:00), Rian Kierans(2:01), Matiu Monaghan(1:03), Jamie McQuillan(4:02), Simon O’Connell & Conor Smith(0:01). Thanks to all the parents and supporters who attended the game.

Under12’s training continues this Saturday. Under 8’s &Under 10’s training starts next Wednesday 2nd April in the big field from 6-7. A note to all players and parents that mouth-guards are now compulsory for all matches and training, they’re as important as the boots so na dearna sibh dearmad (Don’t Forget).
