Reserve Team – The Reserve team took to the field against Ballybay last Sunday morning. With little opportunity this year to have played any football on the pitch, the game was always going to show up the rustiness of the lads. Ballybay got out of the blocks early as we struggled to get any rhythm going. Ballybay ran out convincing winners in the end. This Saturday we have a game against Tyholland, where the lads will be hoping to secure two points which will get us up and running in the league. Throw in time 4.30pm in Tyholland.
Open Forum – A great crowd turned up for the Clubs open Forum on Monday night at 8.30pm in Our Lady’s Secondary Schools Concert Hall. Club Chairperson Stephen Dignam opened by welcoming all to the evening and before long a number of sub groups broke off to have a solutions discussion on a number of issue raised in Stephen’s introduction. All suggestions are now been collated into one document which will be brought back to the Senior Executive, who will work in consultation with the group on an implementation plan for 2014.

Ladies Football Chairperson Darren McQuillan welcomed everyone and give a brief outline of the activities that the Girls would undertake in 2014 before conducting a very insightful questions and answers with the two Monaghan Ladies, in which they covered a range of topics from how to develop your skills, to what it was like to work with Davy Fitzgerald on the TV Show “Irelands Fittest Family” and to what Therese’s new wedding dress was like. The winning Under 12 team received their medals to huge applause from the big crowd. Well done everyone, we are already looking forward to 2014.Thanks again to the McNally Sisters, they have been extremely helpful on a number of Club activities over the last twelve months.
