By Mary McEneaney Tue 25th Feb

Club Planning Night – At the beginning of any year in any organisation there will always be a certain amount of planning involved, we at the Castleblayney Faughs are no different. This year, in an effort to get everybody’s views on board, we are going to have a club planning night, which will be an open forum in which you, the member, player and supporter can make a positive contribution to how we run our club in 2014.  This open night will take place in the Concert Hall at Our Lady’s Secondary School at 8.30pm on the 10th March.  It will only last one hour and we look forward to seeing you all there and remember “It’s YOUR club, so have your say”.

Girls Presentation and Open Night – Friday 7th of March will see the winning Under 12 Girls Football Team receive their medals from last year’s competition. The presentation will take place in the Castleblayney Enterprise Centre at 7pm. The evening will also allow Girls Football Chairperson Darren McQuillan, an opportunity to outline the exciting plans for Girls Football in 2014. Like every other part of our Club, Girls football is thriving and when you have over 50 Girls turning up to train on a very cold and wet Monday evening, its testament of their enjoyment and the work being under taken by the Coaches.

Senior Fixtures– This week saw the schedule of Senior fixture issued by the Fixtures Committee , both our Senior Teams have been handed difficult openers with the Reserve team given an away fixture to Ballybay on Sunday 9th of March at 12pm, while the Senior Team have been given a stiff opener against the recently crowed All Ireland Intermediate Champions Traugh, who no doubt are flying high and have been further boosted by their Under 21 team making the Ulster Final. The match which will take place in Truagh on Sunday 23rd of March with a throw in time of 2pm.

Juvenile Training – All teams are now back at this stage, great to see such huge numbers each week , just a reminder that all Children are required to wear their mouth Guards and that all children pay the €2 to cover the cost of the training facilities. Thank you.
