Monaghan GAA awards night takes place in the Hillgrove hotel on Saturday night, where our hardworking talented juvenile officer Joanne Reihill picks up her Juvenile Club Official of the year award. Joanne receives this award not just for her tireless effort in promoting Gaelic Games but also for her spirit of giving, attitude and undoubted love of the community. Joanne deserves every plaudit that comes her way. Comhghairdeas aris Joanne.

We will also be entering an U21 team this year. The very best of luck to all the players, mentors, coaches and parents of all these teams. We look forward to supporting these teams throughout the coming season.
Club Dinner Dance: following the executive meeting last week the Dinner Dance has been set for February 15th, we won’t find that coming around the corner and with five Juvenile trophies it’s sure to be a great night.
Dr.McKenna Cup: A big thank you to everyone who helped with the match on Sunday in very wintry conditions. St Mary’s had beaten Fermanagh the previous week, this time out the student teachers were no match for a more focused and determined Monaghan team. The team’s next challenge was against Fermanagh on Wednesday in Brewster Park at 7:30pm, where a win was required to continue the journey.
Congratulations to Daragh Graham and Tanya Morgan who celebrated their wedding last week in the Kilmore Hotel. A great day had by all and we wish them a long and happy life together. They’re away to the sun for the honeymoon and we hope they take a bit of the weather back with them for a change from the current high winds and rain we’re getting.
Congratulations: to James Mealiff and Eoin McQuaid who have been selected to be part of the county Minor team for this coming season. These talented players are hard at work in the gym at present and we wish them well for the coming season.
Congratulations to David Freeman who is back training with the county U21’s. A year older and more experienced we’re hoping to see more of David this year. These are really great days for the club; we’re represented on all the juvenile development squads as well as minor, senior and under 21’s. The best of luck to all our boys and we wish them all well.
