Minor Championship Final: Doohamlet 4-15  St.Tiernachs 5-13

Heartbreak, Devastated, Gutted Doohamlet Minors could use any of these words to describe their feelings on Sunday last when they lost by a single point after a thrilling contest that neither team deserved to lose.

With a panel of thirteen players and one sub this Doohamlet team were more than a match for an amalgamated side Clones/EireOg  and dominated this game for long periods. Doohamlet had heroes all over the field with Barry McGinn 1-07 Jamie Walshe 2-01 Matthew Byrne 1-01 Barry McBennett 0-03 and Conor Marray 0-03 our scorers. Damian Ward Mark Connolly and Ryan Ingram were excellent in defence and MJ O’Connor ever reliable in goals. John Duffy Nathan Connolly Pauric Malone Ryan McManus and Jack Ingram all played their part in a thrilling contest and can hold their heads high. (see match report)

These players must regroup and pick themselves up as we face the same opposition in a couple of weeks in the league final.

Breakfast Morning: Doohamlet GFC wish to thank everyone who turned up in such huge numbers on Sunday morning last for our Breakfast morning. This event was a massive success and we must thank many people for their efforts. The men and women who decorated the hall. This was a lovely touch as they had it all decked out in our club colours. The Players and Kitchen staff. They worked tirelessly all morning and made sure everyone had a hearty breakfast.

And finally to an unbelievable Family, Gerry and Deirdre McElroy. They are our Main Club Sponsors and supplied all the food for our Breakfast morning and also sponsored an After-match meal in The Old Coach Inn for our Minors later that evening. Many, Many thanks Gerry and Deirdre.
