Big Thank You:.  Thank you to all volunteers and Club members who helped make the County Final last Sunday such a success, with stewarding, car parking, outside the grounds and shop duties as it wouldn’t happen without your help.  Refreshment duties fell to Kevin & Paul and Joanne & Michelle who not only provided nourishment for the body they also provided plenty of banter with the cuppa.  Kevin Lynch and Phelim MacElwain were flying the flags early in the week and had the town looking really well.  It was terrific to see the Parade of Juvenile Champions at the County Final and even better to have three Cups in it, well done to Simon, Declan and James for showing off their silverware.  Congratulations to Scotstown and Carrickmacross on winning the Senior and Minor finals respectively on Sunday, and we wish them all the best on their Ulster campaigns.

Juveniles: Our U13s took part in a Blitz in Cloghan last Thursday.  This was a great opportunity for our lads between age groups to get some extra football, which they fully enjoyed.  It’s great to see the enthusiasm that they have for the game and surely bodes very well for the future.

Under 16’s: Big thank you to our U16’s who even though the season is finished, were busy selling lotto tickets this week.  Fairplay lads not only excelling on the filed of play but in club and community as well.  You’re an inspiration keep it up, the club lives through its volunteers and you’re setting a wonderful example.

Minors: This Sunday sees our amalgamated minor team in the league final against Doohamlet in Cremartin.  This is a repeat of the championship final thriller last week and we’ll be hopeful of the double.  Doohamlet will be out for revenge and I’m sure both teams will have analysed the match and are honing in on areas for improvement, this whets our appetites even more and adds to the anticipation.  The very best of luck to team and management who’ve done us proud all year and the double would be something really special.  We’ll see you all there, St.Tiarnachs ABU!! Bring it home boys!

Seniors: Hard luck to our senior footballers today in their 2-16 to 4pts defeat to championship finalist truagh. The weakend clones team battled hard despite the score line but unfortunately came up against a team hitting peak form for the championship final.

Commiserations: Staying local, their was no such luck either for Clones girls Michaela Newell, Anita Newell & Aishling Tierney as Aghabog ladies went down 5-11 to 2-13 in the Ulster Junior Club quarter final v Armagh champions Grange. The ladies can keep their heads held high having won the Junior County Championship earlier in the year.

Commiserations: On the hurling front their was also no such luck for Patrick Hannon and the Monaghan harps hurlers as they went down to Armagh champions Craobh Rua in the Ulster Club semi final stage, like the ladies, goals win games and the Harps were on the wrong side of a 3-9 to 1-10 defeat.

Coaching courses and foundation level one are back on again, workshops will be held by Cloughan.  All under age coaches are asked to keep in contact with Phelim and Joanne for more information on these courses. It’s a huge benefit for both the coaches and their teams and after such a successful season at juvenile level we’ll need every edge possible to improve for next season.  We plan to have a winter program for our juveniles also – More information to follow.

Lotto:  Results for draw on 14th October, Jackpot €10,100.  Numbers drawn 13,17,25&27.  NO WINNER.  Lucky Dip winners, B. Connolly C/O Roost Bar, Frankie Dolan Clonfad, Fiona O Byrne CO AIBP, Sinead Kenny Clontreat, Fintan Kelly McCurtain St.  Sellers prize, Roost Bar.  As the Jackpot goes over the €10,000 mark we’d encourage as many players and members as possible to sell and buy tickets as this is a very important revenue stream for the club which pays for buses and training gear etc. Who wouldn’t want to win next weeks Jackpot of €10,200 Next Draw Treanors.
