Monaghan Coaching and Games Development staff had a busy week with a number of different events taking place.
1. Coaching Workshop
Ulster GAA Council staff delivered a Gaelic Start coaching workshop which targeted u6 to u10 coaches on Tuesday evening past (15th of October) in Sean McDermotts indoor hall. By all accounts it was a well attended Workshop with 11 clubs represented on the night (23 coaches). I’m sure the coaches came away from it much the wiser on how to deliver a good coaching session focusing on the FUNdamentals of the game. Monaghan Coaching and Game would like to thank Sean McDermott’s for the use of their excellent facilities and Macartan McKenna and Gavin McGilly for delivering the course. See below of for a photo.
2. Ulster Cups Visiting Our Primary Schools
This part week Colin Malone took the Anglo Celt Cup and the Fr. Murray Cup around the following schools; Killeevan National School, Corcreagh National School
There was great excitement and celebration in all the schools with pupils, teachers and parents all delighted to get the chance to take their photo and hold the cups.
Between now and Christmas Monaghan Coaching and Games Development staff will be visiting every Primary School in county Monaghan with the Ulster Senior and Minor trophies that both county teams won over the summer holidays.

3. U15 Football 7-a-side Floodlight Blitz held in Cloghan
Last night saw 14 clubs take part in an U15 football 7 a side blitz in Cloghan. In what proved to be an excellent night for football weather wise the action on the field was just as good. Each club that participated on the night played a minimum of 4 games. Clubs that took part in the blitz were divided into cup & shield competitions. There was 1 group for the shield & 2 groups for the cup competition. The winners from each group progressed through to the final of the cup competition, with Eire Og & Corduff participating in the Cup Final. The top two teams in the shield competition progressed to the Shield final with Tyholland & Aughnamullen making it all the way to the final. Boths finals were very enjoyable to watch and very competitive with Corduff & Aughnamullen emerging victorious in their respective finals. Monaghan Coaching & Games Development & Coaching staff would like to thank all the clubs, mentors, players & referee’s for making the night a success.
