Adult team.  Manager Adrian Larkin and his selectors because of injuries and absentees were forced to select from a shrinking panel for the visit of Emyvale to club HQ on Sunday last. Played in slippery underfoot conditions their cause hindered even more when reduced to 14 men in the opening half, despite this numerical disadvantage they went into the half time break on level terms Seans 0 – 5 Emyvale 0 – 5. But every Sean’s’ supporter feared the worst, they need not; in the face of adversity and an obvious stern pep talk at the interval it was the home side who came out in much more determined mood with all guns blazing, Damien Larkin planting to the Emyvale net from the throw in, points in quick succession followed. The visitors under the cosh never managed to bridge the gap from this early second half  salvo, our boys  not about to relinquish their hard earned advantage  competed feverishly as the  tempo and intensity of the game grew, Emyvale  trying to regain a foothold. The visitors renewed urgency brought little by way of scores the Seans defence standing resolute, however in the closing stages it did yield  a result….  a penalty, no disputing the foul, was it converted!!!…in the absence of hawk-eye the referee said yes, it reduced the winning margin but wasn’t enough to wrestle away the two very valuable league point that were at stake. Final score Seans 1 – 10 Emyvale 1- 7.

Next Sunday they travel to Smithboro for their deferred round 12 fixture with Eire Óg, throw in is 12.30

Under 8/10 Due to inclement weather conditions on Saturday last the scheduled blitz for our Under 8’s and 10’s squads had to be cancelled. The good news for all under 8’s is that they have another blitz on Saturday next, this time on the wide open spaces of St Tiernach’s Park Clones commencing at 9.30am. Bus will leave Corcaghan Co Op at 8.45am and the complex at 9 o clock sharp and will return around noon. This is the last Under  8 blitz of the year so we hope to see everyone at these two collection points, but prior to that the coaches would like to see and put all U 8’s and 10’s through their paces at their  usual Friday evening coaching session from 7.00- 8.00pm.
