Monaghan Harps completed the line-up for the Gormley uPVC Senior Football Championship semi-finals when they beat Magheracloone last Friday night. After trailing by a point at half-time, goals by Liam Hahessy (two) and Nicholas Treanor sent the Harps through.

Truagh and Tyholland joined Currin and Donaghmoyne in the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship semi-finals when the north-Monaghan sides won in the double-header at Clontibret last Saturday. Truagh had four goals from Adam Treanor to thank for an ultimately comfortable win over Clones. The league leaders were just a point up at the interval, but they pulled away after the restart to cruise through to a last-four clash with Currin. Meanwhile, Tyholland edged through a closely-contested game against Cremartin to book a rematch with Donaghmoyne.

Magheracloone will play neighbours Carrickmacross in the Maguire Transport Minor Football League Division One Final following their semi-final win over Monaghan Harps on Saturday. Despite conceding ten points against the wind in the first half, a goal from a penalty by Paudie Kirk and a string of scores by Alan McCahey kept Magheracloone in touch and although Evan Morahan and Fearghal McMahon kept the Harps in touch, Paudie McMahon and Seán Marron found the net to lead Magheracloone through.

Silver Hill Foods

Truagh Harps are through to the Silver Hill Foods Minor Hurling Championship Final after they eased past Castleblayney in Sunday’s semi-final.

Latton finished strongly to get the better of an understrength Ballybay side in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League on Saturday, while Doohamlet’s involvement in the Ratoath All-Ireland Intermediate sevens meant they conceded to Scotstown.

Eurotech

Killanny are still top of the Eurotech Junior Football League after their comprehensive win over Killeevan on Saturday, while Blackhill stayed within striking distance as they got a walkover from Toome. Oram and Seán McDermotts continue to share third place and they will complete the top four as Emyvale are now three points behind with just one round left. Oram defeated the championship finalists on Saturday, with the Seáns proving too strong for local rivals Aghabog. Scotstown moved off the bottom with a double-scores defeat of their own neighbours Éire Óg.

In the latest Gerry’s Prepared Veg. juvenile finals, St. Patrick’s (Ballybay and Drumhowan) completed the Under-16 Football Division One double, as did Monaghan Harps in the Under-14 Football Division One. Clones/Currin were narrow winners in the Under-14 FL Division One Shield, while Doohamlet and Rockcorry won the Division Three Cup and Division Four Shield respectively.
