Seniors – The seniors lost out to Clontibret last Saturday evening. A very bright start from the Faughs saw us lead by eight points to one after 20 minutes with Ciaran Hanratty well to the fore. Clontibret gained a foothold in the final 10 minutes of the half and reduced our lead to 3. Two early Clontibret goals in the 2nd half gave them the initiative and they held on to win by 3 points, 2-12 to 0-15.

All Ireland Sevens  – We have a team entered in the renowned Kilmacud All-Ireland 7s which takes place on the eve of the All Ireland football final this Saturday. We are drawn in Group with the hosts Kilmacud, Tuam Stars (Galway) and Gaoth Dóbhair (Donegal). The games take place at Silverpark from 11AM.

Operation TransFAUGHSmations – Last Sunday morning saw a huge crown brave the elements of wild wind and rain to take part in the OPTFM annual Mullyash Hike.  This hike kicked off what will be a fun filled 12 weeks of hard work and exercise combined with new experiences, laughter and friendship.  Well done to everyone that took part on the day and many thanks to Mullyash Community Centre for allowing us to use their facilities and the much welcome tea and biscuits on return from the hike.  On Tuesday night past, we had the first of the circuit classes which took place in the Glencarn Hotel and again saw huge numbers turn out. Tomorrow evening we have the first of our Friday night classes which, this week,  is pilates with Janette Keenan at 6pm for the first class and 7.10pm for the second in the Oriel room of the Glencarn Hotel.

Website – The club website www.castleblayneyfaughs.com is currently undergoing maintenance but hopefully will be back online sometime this week.  Thanks for your patience.
