U16s(St.Pats):Congratulations to the U16 parish team of St.Patricks who made history on Saturday when they defeated Donaghmoyne completing the double of both the Div.1 Championship and League Cups.
The team got off to a swift start with a goal from Shane Monaghan within 2 Min’s but the battle was on and our defenders had their work cut out to keep Donaghmoyne at bay. Scores from Cormac Duffy and four of the forwards Michael Duffy,Shane Monaghan,Eoin Mc Kearney and Ryan McCann saw St.Pats lead by 4 points at half time on a score of 3.05 to 1.07.Paddy O Neill opened the second half by hitting the net within the minute but Donaghmoyne would hit home 5 unanswered points leaving only 2 between the sides and it was 11minutes before St.Pats would score again with a point from Cormac Duffy. The teams were level with 10 minutes to go but some superb defending and great team work throughout the field saw all six forwards add to the scoreboard finishing comfortably 7 points ahead.Final score 6.11 to 2.16.
