                                                                                  Sean’s Notes

Adult team. Mixed fortunes for our adult squad over the past week last Tuesday night they travelled to Phairc Mhuire in Scotstown and came away with the two league points in a high scoring encounter Scotstown 2 -5 Seans 2 -19. On Sunday evening a late Killanny goal robbed them of victory and saw the home side take the spoils by the minimum margin; final score Killanny 2 -9 Seans 1 – 11. This week league table toppers and junior championship semi-final opponent Blackhill are visitors to club headquarters on Wednesday evening 21st. Should make for an interesting game ahead of that championship showdown. Throw in time is 7.15pm

Reserve Final. Aughnamullen 2 -10 Seans 1 -10.On Friday night last in Rockcorry Aughnamullen proved too strong in the reserve Football League Div. 2B Final, although our boys were first to get on the scoreboard and were always in contention; when Aughnamullen did get their noses in front despite our boys best efforts we could never managed to close the gap or get closer than the eventual three point winning margin. Although obviously disappointed at the result all involved are to be complemented for their effort in getting to the final, they will hopefully continue that commitment on the training field as it’s a case  now of all hands to the pump as our first team focus on winning promotion.

Minors. The revised draw for the minor football championship, now separate competitions for Division 1 and 2 teams took place at Monday’s County Committee meeting and see our boys pitted away to Killanny in the opening quarter final game. Date has yet to be decided.

Coaching for our Under 8 and 10’s this week takes place on Wednesday evening (21st) from 7 to 8 o clock, this session will be led by Monaghan Coaching and Development staff  hence the change from our usual Friday night session. On Saturday our Under 10’s participate in an U10 blitz hosted by  Currin .
