Seniors:

The Intermediate Football league returned to action on Sunday morning last as the Seniors took on Tyholland away from home. Truth be told this game should have been over at half time but Donaghmoyne failed to take three goal chances in the first half. Along with that Donaghmoyne kicked lots of wides in both halves which led to them falling to a one point defeat. Their next game was on Wednesday evening at home to Aughnamullen, see next weeks notes for the result. After that, on Saturday evening they take on Cremartin at home in the league. Throw in for that one is at 6 o clock in Donaghmoyne, come out and support the lads.

Minors:

Minors have no game for a couple of weeks, but will take on St. Pats in the league semi final, and Latton in the Championship. Dates are yet to be announced for them. Training again on Monday evening at 7.

U16s:

U16s returned to league action this Thursday evening as they took on Sean Mc Dermotts at home. The lads took control of this game from early on and ran out comprehensive victors. This Thursday they play their last league game before the league semi final when they take on Scotsown at home. Throw in is at 7.15, come out and support the lads.

U14s:

The U14 panel have league action on Saturday morning as they take on Aughnamullen at home. Throw in is at 12 o clock in Donaghmoyne. Come support the lads as they prepare for their league semi final.

Mini Fontenoys:

The minis training continues Saturday at 11 in Donaghmoyne. All new children from the ages of u6s up to u10s are welcome. Every child must have a gumbshield otherwise they cannot participate. Cost is €2 per family. Also any parents willing to get involved in coaching are more than welcome.

Best of Luck:

The club would like to wish both the Monaghan Minor Footballers and management the very best of luck this weekend in the All Ireland Semi Final in Croke Park, but especially to our very own Mikey Murnaghan and Ciaran Martin who represent the side. They will as ever to both their club and County very proud.

Congratulations:

Well done to all our players who received their Leaving Cert results in the past week. Hopefully they’ll produce even better results for us on the playing field.

Community Games:

Well done to all the Community games players who won medals in Athlone last weekend especially to the U13 Girls Futsal team who won gold.

Recently Deceased:

The club would like to extend its sympathies to Gerry Hamill and the Hamill family on the death of his father Arthur Hamill and also Arthur’s sister Marie Hamill. RIP.

Important Notice:

All teams training in the field MUST train in the bottom field when it is available from now on. When using the main field, avoid using the goal area to stop digging up the area.
