Seniors:
The Intermediate Football league returned to action on Wednesday evening last as the Seniors took on Iniskeen at home. This was a tough battle battle with our neighbours played on a wet evening. The sides were locked at 1-14 apiece come the final whistle and so the points were shared. The next match was on Sunday morning as they took on Currin at home. Donaghmoyne started strong and took the lead early on and thankfully held this lead throughout to gain a four point victory, a good win for the lads. The next fixture is this Sunday morning as we take on Tyholland in the Intermediate Football League. Throw in is at 12.30 in Tyholland. Get there on Sunday morning to get behind the lads!
Juniors:
Our Junior side took on Emyvale on Friday evening in the Reserve Football League Final.
The early exchanges between both sides were close but a strong Emyvale side pulled away in the second half. Unfortunately on the night it wasn’t to be for Donaghmoyne who were missing a couple of key players on the night as Emyvale ran out comfortable winners. Hard luck to all concerned to both the players and management team, a strong league campaign and taking part in two finals in the one year is no easy task, so well done to all and plan to build on that next year.
Minors:
Minors have no game for a couple of weeks, but will take on St. Pats in the league semi final, a date is yet to be announced for that.
U16s:
U16s return to league action this Thursday evening as they take on Sean Mc Dermotts at home. Throw in for that one is at 7.15 in Donaghmoyne. Come out and support the lads as they look to finish their league strong and prepare for their semi final.
U14s:
The U14 panel had league action on Tuesday evening, see next weeks notes for the result.
Mini Fontenoys:
The minis training continues Saturday at 11 in Donaghmoyne. All new children from the ages of u6s up to u10s are welcome. Every child must have a gumbshield otherwise they cannot participate. Cost is €2 per family. Also any parents willing to get involved in coaching are more than welcome.
Speedy Recovery:
The club would like to wish our two senior players Francis Mc Bride and Conor Finnegan a speedy recovery from their recent injuries and hope to see them back on the field very soon.
Ladies
U12s:
Our U12 girls team qualified for the league final on Monday evening last as they comprehensively beat Scotstown at home. Well done to all concerned and keep up the hard work and bring home the cup.
U16s:
The U16 girls side have their league final -v- Emyvale, this Thursday evening in Tyholland at 7pm.
