Aughnamullen Summer Camp 2013.

Aughnamullen ran their second successive Summer Camp last week, only this year’s exceed last year’s numbers attending. 170 children from the community of Aughnamullen coming together ranging from ages of 4yrs to 14 yrs made it bigger and better.  A mixture of games, soccer, rugby, volleyball, Gaelic, rounders, relays and races and last but not least team challenges throughout. With 44 coaches on board, first aiders and security, all the children were in a safe friendly environment and enjoyed the week’s activities.  On the last day of camp was a group photo of children and coaches and assistants with their new tops that was supplied for participating in the camp.  Aughnamullen would very much like to thank all our sponsors for their kind donations Rangeland Foods, Swift Fine Foods, CastleCool, James Marron, Kepak Food, Ballybay, ChurchView Garden Centre, Powerpac John Sheridan, John & Maura Fox Shantonagh P.O. Plus Anonymous Donor, Also to Ollie Morrisey for cooking all the food. without their help and support the camp would not be as successful and we very much appreciate this support with the hard times we live in today and hope their support continues.  We finished off the camp in style with special guest appearance of Padjo the calf; the children loved him and had lots of photo opportunities with him. Padjo the calf kindly sponsored a prize of dinner for 4 in the GlenCarn hotel and the lucky winner was Mary King, whose grand children attended.  Finally the committee would like to thank all the coaches for their hard work and volunteering their expertise and management skills to all the children and we would like to thank all the parents who helped out on the last day with the barbecue and refreshments and the cleaning up afterwards.  The committee would like to thank Mr. Kelly principal of St. Oliver Plunketts National School for supplying equipment for the camp and to Mr. Joe Duffy principal of Patrician High School, Carrickmacross for supplying equipment for the camp also, without their assistance our camp would not have been as successful. Once again the committee would like to thank anyone who help out in any way to make this a successful event and hope to see you all next year. Can anyone that has found footballs or any other equipment please return them as they are needed for juvenile training on Saturday mornings.
