Sean’s Notes
Juvenile Fundraiser. Our 5/10 Km Walk & Fun Run to raise funds for the promotion of underage football and coaching in the club takes place on Saturday next 13th July. Registration is from 5.30pm at the complex with the walk/ run commencing at 7 o’clock around local roads. With Mediterranean like sunshine forecast we hope everyone will take the opportunity to join us in this fund raising venture and make this a family occasion to participate, at least for all those living locally in our Parish. Much interest has been generated in the run element of this event and we expect to have a good number of runners participating over the longer 10Km route this year. Many of the walkers may content themselves with completing the shorter 5Km circuit. After the physical exertion everyone is invited and welcome to join in what promises to be a great social night, this includes Barbeque and live music in the club’s Social centre. Hopefully we will see many familiar faces there but if you can’t make it; can I respectfully ask please be generous and offer encouragement when our budding footballers of the future come calling for sponsorship.
Under 16. Our Under 16 squad on Sunday night last at Threemilehouse were unable to repeat the exploits of the previous weekend when they overcame a fancied Donaghmoyne side. With home advantage and a place in the Division 1 Under16 championship at stake they never got into their stride against a Clontibret outfit who were superior on this occasion and ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of Seans 1 – 9 Clontibret 3 – 12. This was a bitter pill to swallow as everyone involved knows they can play much better, but with a number of game remaining in the league and a semi-final place still very much in the offering they may yet have an opportunity to show just what they are really capable off. The panel on duty was Ryan Connolly, Aaron Mc Nally, Jamie Keenan, Shane Kelly, Niall Murphy, Rian Mc Entee, Ashley Corrigan, Niall Kearns Aidan Ward, Mark Murphy, Sean Grant, Ryan Hughes, Patrick Mc Phillips, Adam O Driscoll, Dylan Mc Nally, James Connolly, and Ryan Mc Elvaney Oisin Mc Kenna.
