On Sunday last Monaghan Minors bridged a 68 year gap by winning the Ulster Minor Championship for the first time since 1945.
Brian Finn of Castleblayney Faughs and a member of the 1945 team, playing at centre half forward is a very proud Monaghan man and last Sunday was one of the proudest days in his life.
He recalled winning the 1945 Minor Championship by beating Armagh then a win over neighbours Cavan in the semi final and victory against Down in the final on a scoreline of 1-07 to 0-07 points.
He was delighted to meet up with 2 Castleblayney Faughs players, Mark Kelly and Ronan McNamara, members of the current Minor panel who achieved the historic victory last Sunday.
