Ladies:
Championship:
Last Wednesday Corduff were at home to Scotstown in the preliminary round of the Intermediate Championship. With perfect conditions and a freshly mowed pitch the scene was set. However for Corduff the holiday season came early and as a result a number of key players were missing. Corduff got off to a great start with a score from a free. However Scotstown dominated the first quarter putting real pressure on Keely Culleton in goal and the backs Laura Sheridan, Ciara mCEnaney, Amanda Cooney, Sarah McEnaney, Niamh Callan and Nicole Carragher. Corduff found it difficult to get beyond midfield but did eventually resulting in a goal by Eva Woods. The score at halftime was Corduff 1-3 Scotstown 3-7. Scotstown once again opened the 2nd half in control. However the Corduff midfield pair Fiona Patton & Laura McEnaney worked tirelessly playing very deep. This effort paid off as Barbara Ward stormed through the Scotstown backs and rattled the net twice with 2 great goals. This was followed by a ziz-zag movement by Eva Woods resulting in a 3rd goal. This goal fest brought Corduff to within 3 points of Scotstown. Despite the fact that the forwards Sarah Burns, Kate Brennan, Eva Woods, Sharon Hannraty, Barbara Ward, Bernice McNally and sub Dearbhla Callan continued to put in a great effort Scotstown finished comfortable winners. Keely pulled off some brilliant saves in the last quarter. Final score Corduff 5-6 Scotstown 4-18.
U8 & U10 Blitz:
Congratulations to the Corduff Juvenile Committee on a very successful U8/U10 Blitz last Thursday.
