Blayney Hurling Club Notes

U6/U8 & U-10s

Training is at Concra Field all for young Hurlers on Wednesday evening’s

U- 6 ,U- 8 & U-10 at 6.15pm

U12s

Despite not being able to field the required numbers and with the points awarded to us before the throw in, Clontibret still provided the opposition in a good run out for the boys last week. It provided a good opportunity for us to try the boys in different positions and they responded well with dominant play as a team all over the pitch.

Again there was more frustration for us on Monday night when Cootehill were unable to field with the points being awarded to Blayney.

Our next league game will be on the 12th August.

Challenge match tonight (Thursday) in Concra against knockbridge. All players to be at pitch for 6.15pm.

U16s

Our u16s had no game in the Monaghan league this week but played Keady on monday night in a challenge match. The lads put in a very strong performance but ended up losing out to a very strong Keady. Best for Blayney on the night were Stephen McNally, James Lavelle, James Wilson, Jordan Carville and Alan Nugent.

No training this Monday due to bank holiday weekend. Training Wednesday at 8pm in Concra
Also thanks to Hugh Leonard for refereeing the challenge match.

Seniors

Seniors qualified for the senior championship final by beating the harps in a hard fought game last Thursday.Good performances from Jim Mc Hugh and Fergal Rafter.

Senior league match this Thursday V Inniskeen in St Mary s Park. Next Tuesday we play Derrynoose in the Armagh league.
