Blayney Hurling Club Notes

Training:

U6/U8 & U-10s 

Training is at Concra Field all for young Hurlers on Wednesday evening’s 

U- 6 ,U- 8 & U-10 at 6.15pm

Under 12s 

U12’s played Clontibret last night (Wednesday) Match report to follow,Our next match is away to Cootehill on Monday evening.All players to meet at lidl at 6.15pm.

Under 16

Our U16 hurlers are due to take a break from their Monaghan league for the holiday period over the next two weeks. Training continues in Concra at 8pm every Wednesday and we hope to get some challenge games during the break period. Players will get texts re upcoming games/training.

Seniors

The seniors continued there winning ways when they beat Craodh Ruadh of Camlough in the Armagh league last Tuesday week on a scoreline of Blayney 4-11 Craodh Ruadh 1-10. Then on Thursday night they played Carrickmacross away in the last round of championship matches  and after a tough and very competitive match they came away with a win on a scoreline of C’Blayney  2-21 Carrickmacorss 2-17 . This result leaves  Blayney on top of the Hurling championship league table and they now play Monaghan Harps in the semi-final tonight in Clontibret with throw in at 7-45pm

Centra Fun Day

Castleblayney hurling club  along with the Senior sponsors  Mc Mahon’s Centra is hosting a family fun day on Friday 17-August  . Events being organised on the day include the Centra Hurling Skill challenge. Bouncy Castles, Barbecue and other hurling skills games . The event is taking place in the Super-Valu car park so keep this date free.

Congratulations

Well done to the Monaghan county Senior and Minor footballers on winning  the Ulster championship last weekend and a special mention to club member Stephen Marron who is part of the  Minor management team.

Muckno Mania.

The hurling club took part in the Muckno Mania Gathering parade last Friday  . The club had on display  a range of Jerseys which were worn by the club over the last 60 years  and former captains of winning championship teams also walked alongside the float . These were Paddy Irwin – 1957, Frank Marron -1964 , Noel Mc Guigan- 1979, Mickey Byrne  -1988, Pat Bolger -1992 , Ciaran Connolly-1998, Barry Reilly-2000 and David Connolly- 2009.

Breakfast Morning

The Breakfast Morning last Sunday was a huge success and we would like to thank Pat and Patsy from the Iontas  for there expert help on the day and everyone  else who helped out on the day .
