The Gala Ball promises to be one of the highlights of what is going to be a great weekend in Castleblayney. The Gala Ball will honour the famous five-in-a-row winning team as well as giving the people of Castleblayney an opportunity to gather to reminisce about the old times and more importantly allow people to catch up friends from years gone by. Muckno Mania – There was great entertainment and craic in Blayney last weekend with the annual Muckno Mania festival. Well done to the organising committee for another packed programme of events over the 4 days. As always, the Faughs were well represented over the weekend, Thursday evening was “Come Cook with us” in the Glencarn Hotel, there was great attendance and colour in Friday night’s parade which saw maybe 100 kids wearing their green and gold jerseys. The annual sports day and Teddy Bear’s Picnic which was hosted by the club on Saturday also saw a huge attendance with everyone, young and old, enjoying the fine sunshine and fun and finally we had a stand at the family fun day on Sunday in Lough Muckno which gave locals the opportunity to stop by and get more information on future events like the Gathering and Summer camp next month and of course the now famous Operation TransFAUGHmation due to start in September.

Meanwhile the development team had a great win over Doohamlet on Wednesday evening and followed that with a tight victory over Corduff on Saturday. This leaves the boys joint top of the league awaiting the semi-final pairings in the coming weeks. Well done to both sets of players for the spirit and attitude shown over the past week.
