The second round of the Auto McK  Camogie Championship gets underway this weekend with Truagh taking on Castleblayney  in Oliver Plunkett Park, Emyvale on Friday evening .  Inniskeen  have been forced to concede their fixture with Clontibret  due to lack of numbers.

Castleblayney who were last years winners of the competition had a bad start to the Championship when   just two weeks ago they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Clontibret in the first round. Missing a couple of their regulars they struggled for scores and will be anxious to put it behind them when they face Truagh who had an easy first round encounter with Inniskeen.

Senior Championship Fixture :

Castleblayney  V  Truagh.    Venue:  Oliver Plunkett Park, Emyvale.   Time:  8pm.

County U16’s

The squad are out this weekend when they are at home to Meath’s 2nd team.

Ulster GAA Youth Camp

Ulster GAA have recently released details of their upcoming Youth Camps which will take place around the province in the coming weeks.  The Youth Camps, which are delivered by Ulster GAA’s expert coaches, will include specialist coaching sessions as well as workshops about player development on and off the field.  Aimed at 13-16 year old boys and girls, they will include sessions in Football, Hurling, Ladies Football and Camogie and are an opportunity not to be missed by any aspiring athletes out there.

Ulster GAA President Martin McAviney has endorsed the camps, saying “These camps are an excellent opportunity for boys and girls across the province to be part of top quality coaching sessions with the Ulster GAA coaches.  We often see a drop-out of players at this age-group, so this is an ideal time for us to engage with these young people and to help develop them for the future.”

Dates for the camps have been confirmed in the following Counties:

Thursday 18th July – Cavan

Friday 19th July – Antrim

Friday 9th Aug – Monaghan

Friday 23rd Aug – Armagh

Tuesday 27th Aug – Derry

Cost of the camp is £10/€10 per person and interested players are urged to register for the camps as soon as possible as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

To register simply contact youthcamps.ulster@gaa.ie.
