Monaghan fell to a heavy defeat away to Tyrone in the Ulster Under-21 Hurling Shield semi-finals on Wednesday evening.
Scotstown’s 100% record in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League was ended by a Conor McManus-inspired Clontibret on Wednesday evening, while an early goal from Paul Jones set up Magheracloone to win away to second-placed Monaghan Harps and a feisty local derby between Doohamlet and Castleblayney finished all-square.
Currin drew level with Truagh at the top of the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League when they beat local rivals Clones on Wednesday. A Sarto Quigley goal had Clones ahead by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time, but a brace of majors from Dick Clerkin helped Currin to a convincing win. At the other end of the table, Aughnamullen edged out Drumhowan to get their first win of the season and draw level with the Geraldines, while Cremartin moved clear of the relegation zone with a double-scores defeat of Inniskeen, which was helped by early goals from Kevin Brennan and Kevin Atkinson.
Emyvale moved two points ahead of Blackhill at the top of the Eurotech Junior Football League (albeit with two more games played) when they beat Aghabog on Wednesday evening, while Éire Óg got the better of Toome and Oram ran out comfortable winners against Killeevan.

Aughnamullen had a good win over Carrickmacross in Division Two, Éire Óg battled past Latton in an exciting Division Three decider, goal-hungry Drumhowan saw off Killeevan to win Division Four and the Division Five match produced another high-scoring match, which saw Blackhill/Oram amalgamation Emerald Sarsfields defeat Monaghan Harps B.
