ROCKCORRY G.A.A.

CLUB NOTES

25th June 2013

Monaghan v Cavan

There are many great derbies in the world of sport including the “Old Firm” clash between Celtic & Rangers, the Merseyside derby involving Liverpool & Everton and off course the El Clásico between Barcelona & Real Madrid, BUT nothing, nothing compares or even comes close to a Monaghan v Cavan encounter. That’s rights folks, the two counties will renew one of the biggest rivalries in GAA circles when they lock horns, once again, in the semi-final of the Ulster Senior & Minor Football Championship. It takes place this Saturday 29th June, in St. Tiernach’s Park, Clones and throw-in time is 5.15pm and 7.00pm. Believe you me this is a match you DON’T want to miss so make sure you get your tickets and show off your county colours and support your county teams….Come on MONAGHAN. Please visit www.rockcorrygaa.ie for further information on ticket details, cost and venues where to purchase. On behalf of everyone at the Rockcorry GAA club all the best lads and do yourselves proud. Good luck.

All players are requested to meet at the dressing-rooms at 6.20pm.

Under 8 Go Games Blitz

A very enjoyable and exciting Go Games was held on Saturday 22nd June when our under 8 footballers travelled to Drumhowan to take part in the blitz. Despite the lousy weather conditions it was great to see so many youngsters from various clubs across the county having fun playing their games and developing their football skills. They played games against Drumhowan, Corduff, Oram and Aughnamullen and played really well and gave a wonderful display, showing great enthusiasm and showed their many talents, that they have learned from their coaching sessions. It was also wonderful to see so many parents there to support and encourage the future stars of the club and we look forward to the next blitz with huge excitement and anticipation.

Under 8/10 Blitz

The next Go Games blitz is a double blitz that involves under 8 and under 10 players. It will take place on Thursday 27th June in Tyholland between 7.00-9.00pm. All players reminded that gum-shields are compulsory for training and competitive games.
