Aghabog 1g 4p

We got back to winning ways with a convincing win over Aghabog on Sunday last after our championship game loss against Seans the previous week. Having to field without 8 of our championship team this was a great result for us and puts us third on the league table with one game in hand. This was a great team effort and those to shine out were Andrew Kieran, Tommy Kiernan, Donal McArdle, Locky Byrne, Kevin Crawley, Michael Quinn and Cillian Leegan.

Jimmy Kelly R.I.P.
We extend our deepest condolences to Jimmys wife Jacinta and daughters Ellen and Aoife, his brother Eddie and sisters Marna, Frances and Geraldine, his relatives and large circle of friends.
Jimmy who resided in Tullyallen, Drogheda for many years returned to his native Killanny where his remains were flanked by the local Geraldines from Pairc Eanna for his funeral mass and final place of resting.
Jimmy was a highly valued member both as a player and official. He captained the team that won the junior championship in 1970 thus bridging a 42 year gap. He certainly played his part as his side emerged with a point to spare after an epic struggle with Tyholland. Jimmy came from a family steeped in the GAA tradition, his uncles wore the club colours with distintion as did his father Jim who was also a County Board Official. While Jimmy manned the number 3 spot on final day he was flanked by his brother Eddie at left full. Jimmy was a kind and friendly person and enjoyed the craic and regardless of the outcome of a discussion he always managed to retain his composure. May God grant his gentle soul eternal rest. Go ndeana Dia trocaire ar a anam dhilis.

A speedy Recovery
We wish Robert Berg a speedy recovery from his injury.
