Dancers Wall

The Dancers wall is up and looking very impressive behind the goals. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the fund raising project to make the construction possible.

It adds a nice touch to the stadium.

Unwanted Clothes Donation

Time for a clear out?

As part of a fundraising project in association with Lenrec Ltd, We are accepting donations of unwanted clothes/textiles, disused mobile phones and unwanted books.

We are collecting now right up to June 26th in the store room under the stand in Páirc Grattan.

Items which are donated and collected, if re-wearable/re-useable are exported to Africa or other foreign markets and if not are recycled in Ireland for items such as soundproofing for buildings and industrial wipes for factories, therefore ensuring nothing goes to landfill!

Please give rather than dumping.

If you have questions please feel free to contact 0876177347.

Busy Calendar ahead

The GAA diary is in full swing this week with the IFL resuming in Cremartin on Wednesday night, which will no doubt be a tough examination for the guys.

A win there will see us leap frog Donaghmoyne into fourth place and keep us on the heels of Corduff in 3rd.

We are out again on Sunday in Páirc Grattan against 2nd place Currin.

Two wins from two in these games will see us right back in the mix on 13 points sitting 2nd or third.

Our Senior Hurlers are in also in championship this week against Blayney and Truagh. Brian and the guys will be hoping to keep up the momentum following a good start we had to the campaign against Clontibret last week (1-25 – 0-05).

There is also an Intermediate and Senior Championship double header clash on Sunday in Páirc Grattan between Corduff/Tyholland and Carrick/Latton.

Throw in for the first match is at 5.30.

Grattan’s Oige

Our young U 14 hurlers played in the handcraft hurling “A” final against Lisbellaw of Fermanagh last Thursday in Cloghan.

It was a cracking game, which eventually went to extra time.

As holders of the cup our boys went out determined to retain it however their backs where firmly put to the wall in the first half.

Playing against a very strong wind we conceded 3 very soft goals, which got us to the half time break with a mountain to climb.

However as this team has shown now on many occasions, they are not afraid of a battle and with 2 quick goals we were right back in the mix.

Things where looking ominous in the second half when we missed 2 golden opportunities by hitting the post firstly then the crossbar, however star man Andrew woods popped up late in normal time to equalize the game and bring us into extra time.

Against the wind again we let them of to a 4 point lead; however the lads put up a courageous show but could not manage to pull the deficit back beyond 3 points.

The game finished with us on the wrong side of a 4-03 to 4-06 score line, however the team and management can be very proud of themselves.
