HARPS HANDBALL
Success for Louise and Eoghan in Roscommon

Louise Mc Ginnity is rapidly emulating the numerous successes of her brother Eoghan in handball. Recently she surprised everyone in the Ulster One-Wall tournament with a great performance against a strong Tyrone player. Last week she proved how much her handball has improved by winning the Mount Talbot Under 10 Singles in Roscommon.  This was her first major tournament victory and is justly deserved.  In the final she powered her way to victory over her Inis Mór opponent with excellent serving and use of both hands.
The family success continued at the same tournament.  Eoghan faced many tough players in the Under 12 Singles – notably Tyrone’s Cahir Monroe and Roscommon’s Dylan Hanley.  However he duly dispatched each opponent with ease.  A feature of his performance against highly-rated Hanley in the final was his skill at “Kill” shots from all areas of the court.  He won by a big margin 21 points to 8.
Feile Team for Limerick
The serious business of picking a team to represent the club at the Féile na nGael tournament in Limerick begins this week.  Needed are 5 players under 14 years to compete using the dark blue ball in the small court.  The tournament begins on Friday, July 5th with the Féile parade through Limerick city.  The following morning play begins across the county boundary at the Cork town of Ballydesmond.  Monaghan Harps are in Division 3.
