Reserve Senior football

The Reserve football League Division Three team were beaten by Monaghan Harps in the Championship last Friday evening in Monaghan, on a score line of 2-11 to 1-7. Despite a gritty and determined performance our Reserve team were overcome by the stronger resources of Monaghan Harps, who unlike ourselves had the luxury of fielding different players from the previous league fixture. Team:- Fergal Connolly, Tommy Maguire, Sean Brady, Marc Connolly, Dara Brady, Enda Mc Caffrey , Johnny O Connor, Ciaran Kearns, Paddy Mc Dermott, Aaron Casey, Niall Mc Entee , Shane Brady, Daniel Mc Entee, Cian North, Ryan Beattie

Youth Affairs

U14’s.

The Clones/Currin Division 1 team had a good win away to Emyvale on Saturday last. A good opening half left the team 2-06 to 0-01 up. Emyvale responded well in the second half but the team were worthy winners by a score of 2-12 to 1:07. Team: Cian McCarney, Caoihain O Neill-McDermott, Simon O Connell, Dan Connolly, Nathan Daly, Matthew Reihill, Jack Lynch (0-1), Cillian Martin, Oisin Mc Phillips (1-0), Kevin Murphy (0-4), Conor Reilly, Rian Kierans (0-2), Dec Mc Kernan (1-5). The team were away to table toppers Monaghan Harps on Tuesday at 7.30pm

The Division 5 team had a championship semi –final also on Tuesday away to Emerald Sarsfields. Hopefully the results went the right way and that they made the final.

Jack and Danny

There are some fantastic photos in circulation of  many prominent Gaelic football stars lining up to get their photos taken with our two young stars. It is believed that they are going to have their own special section in the GAA museum.

Come Dine with me.

At a meeting last week,  it was ‘full steam ahead’ for our Gathering weekend in August with the announcement of our ‘Come Dine with Me’ on the Bank Holiday weekend. Players and supporters alike will be in contact over the next few weeks, so keep free that weekend.

County Football

Best Wishes to our three representatives who will line out in the Ulster senior football championship next Sunday against Antrim. Dick, Jack and Stephen are a credit to our club and an inspiration to our younger club members, we wish them well on Sunday next.
