The second of the Under 8 Go Games Blitzes took place on Saturday last 25th May. In all there were 5 blitzes that took place throughout the county on Saturday. The 5 host venue’s where;
- Carrickmacross – Latton, Donaghmoyne, Magheracloone and Killanny participated in this blitz.
- Drumhowan – Rockcorry, Oram, Inniskeen and Castleblayney participated in this blitz.
- Aghabog – Aughnamullan, Doohamlet, Ballybay, Currin and Corduff participated in this blitz.
- Eire Og – Emyvale, Cremartin, Killeevan, Clones and Tyholland participated in this blitz.
- Monaghan Harps – had a double blitz on Thursday 23rd May; Sean Mc Dermotts, Clontibret, Scotstown and Truagh participated in this blitz.
Overall 27 clubs took part in the blitzes, 510 children took part in playing in the blitzes.
We would like to thank the host clubs for the use of their facilities, organising fixtures, setting up of pitches and providing refreshments for after the blitz. In addition to this we would like to thank the clubs that took part in the blitzes, also a big thank you to the referee’s, who done an excellent job of referring the games. Refereeing assessors Michael Henry and Jim O Rourke attended some of the blitzes to evaluate how the young Go Games referees were preforming. The feedback was very positive.
Next Blitz: Under 10’s on Saturday 15th June. Host co-ordinators will be in contact with all clubs.
