Sympathy. It was with a great sense of loss and sadness that our club community learned of the death of Francie Mc Elvaney Drumguill on Thursday last. Francie was a dedicated member and a committed worker for the Seans throughout his life and spent many a long evening often alone gathering stones off the surface of the old playing field. In more recent times he was an ardent supporter of saffron and white teams, rarely missing a club match at any level be it Under 12 or senior, and was there only a few days before his death to see his beloved Mc Dermotts play Oram. He was inducted as an Honorary Life President of the club in recognition of his service an honour richly deserved. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, his sons and daughters his heart broken grandchildren and extended family circle on their inconsolable loss. Go ndeana Dia Trocaire ar a anam
Adult Team news. Last Sunday at TMH in the league our boys were held to a draw by neighbours Aghabog on a scoreline of Seans 1- 10 Aghabog 1- 10. This was a game that could have gone the visitors way but equally had the ball bounced differently the spoils would surely have rested with the home side. It’s that bounce of the ball that causing supporters not to mention mentors headaches …we are not just getting them!!. None the less Sean’s supporters will be heading in big numbers to Drumhowan on Friday evening next for the opening round of the 2013 Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship. Throw in is at 7.30pm with Toome providing the opposition and posing a very real threat of progression, as all involved with the team are acutely aware. In recent games results haven’t gone the way the effort being made on the training pitch deserves, but hopefully that commitment will get its reward on Friday evening, and those little things that have being going against us recently will fall in our favour this time out. Toome for sure will provide a stern question but our boys on their day are a match for anyone; if proof of that is needed there’s no better place than in a championship game…starting 15 over to you.
