Scotstown now have six wins from six in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League after goals by Darren and Kieran Hughes led them to a seven-point win away to Rockcorry on Wednesday evening. Monaghan Harps are on their own in second place after they battled past Clontibret on Monday, with Paddy Connolly scoring their goal, while Magheracloone’s game against Carrickmacross on Wednesday was postponed. 2012 IFC winners Doohamlet caused a shock on Wednesday when they beat county champions Ballybay, with county minor Barry McGinn kicking five points, while Latton stretched their winning run to three games. Having eased past Rockcorry on Sunday, helped by a Hugh McElroy hat-trick, Latton needed a late goal from Shane Coyle to edge out Castleblayney on Wednesday.

Monaghan Electrical

Truagh continue to look the team to beat in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League after they hammered nearest challengers Donaghmoyne on Wednesday, with Mark Counihan, Niall Coyle and Gary Todd scoring goals. County men Jack McCarron and Dick Clerkin led the scoring as Currin overtook Donaghmoyne in second with a four-point win in Corduff, while there were draws between Tyholland and Drumhowan and Inniskeen and Aughnamullen.

Eurotech

Aghabog, Seán McDermotts and Emyvale all moved onto eight points in the Eurotech Junior Football League after they had wins over Éire Óg, Oram and Killanny respectively. Blackhill are just a point further back after they beat Killeevan, while Scotstown looked set for their first JFL win when they led by three points inside the last five minutes, but a late goal and a point gave Toome victory.

Carrickmacross remain top of the GRM Minor Football League Division One after they battled to their fifth straight win at the expense of Emyvale on Tuesday. Truagh’s win over neighbours Scotstown leaves them second, while Magheracloone got off the mark by beating Monaghan Harps.

Cúchulains Sarsfields have five straight wins in the MFL Division Two after their defeat of Clontibret, while Donaghmoyne eased past St. Patrick’s to stay second. Cremartin and Killanny both stayed in contention for semi-final places with wins over Seán McDermotts and Latton respectively.

The top two in Division Three, Castleblayney and St. Tiarnach’s, ran up big scores against Killeevan and Inniskeen, while Doohamlet were too strong for Emerald Sarsfields.

Defending champions Castleblayney had little trouble in starting their bid for a fifth successive Platinum Tanks Reserve Football O’Duffy Cup with a comprehensive win over Tyholland on Friday. Scotstown and Monaghan Harps were comfortable winners against Cremartin and Magheracloone respectively, while Ballybay got a walkover from Drumhowan.

Donaghmoyne cruised past Truagh in the Crawley Cup, while Carrickmacross won a high-scoring game against Killeevan and Rockcorry battled past Oram. Corduff emerged from another free-scoring clash with Castleblayney on Saturday.

In Friday’s Reserve Cup Division Three games, Clontibret dismissed Killanny and Blackhill pipped Éire Óg, while Aghabog got a walkover from Toome.

Silver Hill Foods

Monaghan Harps beat Clontibret in the Silver Hill Foods Development Hurling League on Thursday to stay top ahead of Truagh and Inniskeen, who also had wins over Carrickmacross and Castleblayney. Castleblayney and Clontibret played out a draw in the Silver Hill Foods Minor Hurling League on Sunday, while Carrickmacross conceded to Truagh Harps.

Monaghan Harps completed the double of Gerry’s Prepared Veg. Under-14 championship titles when they beat Killanny in the football final on Saturday.
