In a busy week in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League, Scotstown maintained their 100% record. The Blues got a walkover from Carrickmacross on Sunday, before easing to victory over Ballybay on Wednesday, inspired by goals from Kieran and Darren Hughes and Francis Caulfield. Ballybay had returned to winning ways away to Rockcorry on Sunday, while the other game saw five points from Barry McGinn lead Doohamlet to a narrow win over Latton. Wednesday’s other games brought wins for Castleblayney against Carrickmacross, Clontibret against Rockcorry, Monaghan Harps over Doohamlet and Latton versus Magheracloone, where a Darren McElroy goal separated the teams.

Monaghan Electrical

It was a mixed week for leaders Truagh in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League. They lost their 100% record against Clones on Sunday, when goals by Danny Rooney and Darren Freeman proved decisive, but they bounced back with a win over Inniskeen on Wednesday, helped by a Niall Coyle major. Dick Clerkin found the net in the first half to lead Currin to a comfortable win over Aughnamullen on Wednesday, which kept them in second, a point ahead of Corduff, who edged out Donaghmoyne, who themselves had a narrow win at the expense of Drumhowan on Sunday. Five Shane Burke points guided Cremartin to victory in Aughnamullen on Sunday, but they lost out to Drumhowan on Wednesday, while Tyholland moved up the table with two successive wins; first in a low-scoring game in Corduff on Saturday, followed by a more open match against Clones on Wednesday.

Eurotech

Blackhill are the new leaders of the Eurotech Junior Football League after their win over Toome on Sunday, while Emyvale fell to defeat against Oram, who were spearheaded by a brace of goals from Ryan McGuinness. Elsewhere, Killanny eased past Killeevan and Seán McDermotts drew with Aghabog.

Silver Hill Foods

Monaghan Harps won the Silver Hill Foods Development Hurling League Final against Truagh in Smithborough on Thursday, while last Saturday’s Silver Hill Minor Hurling League decider saw a spirited second-half comeback from the Truagh Harps amalgamation fall short against Cootehill at Cloghan.
