Connacht Championship Opener.  The quest for All-Ireland glory begins on Sunday in far-off Gaelic Park, New York. Leitrim make the long journey to face a team that will be led by local man, Paul Lambe.

Paul played football for many years in different grades for Magheracloone and had developed into an outstanding corner back. Since he left this country to live and work in New York he has made a significant contribution to football in that city.  He continues to be a tenacious corner-back and has been honoured with the captaincy of the team in this year’s championship. All associated with Magheracloone are very proud that a man from this club will lead his team in the first round of the championship.

We wish him the best of luck on the big day.
