Seniors:
The Senior panel made the short trip away to Corduff on Wednesday evening last. Donaghmoyne were first out of the blocks and went with in a comfortable lead, after being playing with the wind, at half time. The second half proved to be the much poorer as Corduff clawed their way back and went on to win the game by two points. There are no games now for a number of weeks.
Juniors:
Our Junior side returned to action last Saturday evening as they faced Corduff away. The lads put in a very impressive display and they ran out comprehensive winners. Their next game is in the Quarter final of the Crawley Cup as they take on rivals Iniskeen at 7.45 away on Friday evening.
Minors:
Minor training continues every Monday from 6.45 in Donaghmoyne. Need to see everyone present from now on with this break and the business end of the year to come.
U16s:
The U16 panel continue training on Monday evening at 6.45 in Donaghmoyne.
U14s:
U14s had their Championship Quarter final meeting with Ballybay on Tuesday, see next weeks notes for the result. On Friday evening they take on neighbours Carrick away in the next round of the league. Throw in is at 7.15 in the Emmets and the lads will look to continue their good run in the league to date.
U12s:
Both U12 teams, the 11 a side and 9 a side teams had their first games in the league in the last week.On Monday evening the 9 a side team travelled where they took on Harps and on Wednesday the 11 a side team made the trip to Seans. See next weeks notes and results for the results.
Mini Fontenoys:
The minis training continues Saturday at 11 in Donaghmoyne. All new children from the ages of u6s up to u10s are welcome. Every child must have a gumbshield otherwise they cannot participate. Cost is €2 per family. Also any parents willing to get involved in coaching are more than welcome.
Recently Deceased:
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the Duffy and Markey family on the recent death of Mary Duffy of Killygally.
Speedy Recovery:
The club would like to wish our U12 player Gavin Mc Skeane a speedy recovery from his recent injury and look forward to seeing him back on the playing field as soon as possible.
Congratulations:
The club would like to congratulate Ciaran, Mikey and the rest of the Monaghan Minor football panel on their win last Sunday in the first round of the Ulster Championship against Antrim. They will now face Cavan in the semi final at the end of June.
Community Games:
Congratulations to all the Community Games teams that travelled to Athlone for the All Irelands last weekend. The weekend proved to be one that provided much silverware as with all teams coming home with bronze and also the U14 draughts team who finished in 4th place. Congratulations to all players, management and all concerned.
Donaghmoyne GFC Golf Classic:
This year sees the return of the Annual Donaghmoyne GFC Golf Classic sponsored by ‘Colemans Pub’ of Laragh. It is taking place on the 28th of June so everyone keep this date free in your diaries. Entry fees into the Classic are as follows; Team of 4 golfers- €120, Sponsorship of Greens- €50, Sponsorship of Tees- €50. If you wish to enter a team, we advise you to register with us ASAP to reserve your preferred tee time. Your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated by all involved in Donaghmoyne GFC. Ladies
U16s + U14s:
The U16s and U14 teams have no games this week due to the U14 county teams participation in the Ulster final on Wednesday evening. We’d like to wish Aisling Callan, Louise Kerley, Aideen Murray who is captain of the team and the rest of the Monaghan U14 girls team the very best of luck in their final against Cavan.
