Seniors: The Seniors made it two wins out of two with victory over Latton on Saturday evening. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Rory Beggan (0-2); Pauric Keenan, William Carroll, Edward Beggan; Emmet Caulfield, Donal Morgan, Mark Duffy; Darren Hughes (1-0), Peter O’Hara; Brian McGinnity (0-1), Shane Carey (1-4), Fergal McPhillips; Orin Heaphey (0-1), Paul Grant (0-1), Conor Caulfield. Substitutes used: Nicholas Corrigan, Francis Caulfield, Stephen Sherry. They had a home fixture against Monaghan Harps on Wednesday evening. The third fixture of a busy week is an away to Doohamlet on Sunday, April 21st at 2pm.

Juniors: Oram came away from Scotstown with the spoils on Sunday with a 2-8 to 0-9 victory. Scotstown team and scorers: Cian Mohan; David Caulfield, Christopher McAleer, Adrian Carbin (0-1); Shane Rice, Damien McKenna, Ciaran Treanor; Damien F McKenna, Tommy Moyna; Mark Clerkin, Mark McKenna (0-1), Paul Sherlock (0-2); Conor Caulfield, Declan McCarville, Mark Treanor (0-1). Substitutes used: Nicholas Corrigan (0-4), Emmet McCrudden, Niall McKenna, Mark Hand, Kevin McKenna. The Juniors had an away game at Emyvale on Wednesday night, and are in action again on Saturday at 5pm at home to Aghabog.

Reserves: The B team return to action next Wednesday, April 24th with a RFL Division 1A fixture away to Magheracloone throwing in at 7:30pm.

Under 21: The lads finally got their season under way with an away game against Truagh last Friday, but came out on the wrong side of a 3-10 to 2-12 defeat. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Conor Forde (0-1); Caolan McElwain, Ciaran Treanor, Shane Rice; Elliot Maguire, Ross McKenna, Evan Murray; Stephen Sherry, David Caulfield; Sean Mohan (0-2), Tommy Moyna, Mark Treanor (0-2); Conor McCarthy (0-5), Donnacha Dolan (2-1), Nessan McCrudden. Substitutes used: Micheal McCarville (0-1), Conor Cahill, Jason Carey. Next game is at home to St. Patrick’s on Sunday, April 28th.

Minors: The Minor team lost out to Truagh in their first game, but followed that up with a home win against Maghercloone last Tuesday evening, 3-18 to 3-6. There was a home fixture against the Harps on Tuesday evening, and the following Tuesday, April 23rd they play Carrickmacross away at 7:15pm.

Under 16: The lads followed up their win over Seán MacDermotts with another against Carrickmacross last Thursday evening. Scotstown team & scorers: Fintan Sherlock; Mel Treacy, Ben McDevitt, Rory McCarthy; Conor Mohan, Lorcan Murray, Caolan McKenna; Cillian Murphy, Shane McMahon (0-3); Adrian Grew (1-6), Eanna Deery, James Curley (0-1); Jamie McCarey (0-1), Leonard McDermott (0-1), Ruairi McKenna (0-1).  Substitutes used: Gary Cassidy, James McCague, Brian Treanor. The next game is away to Toome at 6:45pm on Thursday, April 18th.

Under 14: Championship hopes were ended by defeat against a strong Truagh side, who won by 3-14 to 3-3. The next game is a home fixture against Killanny at 12 noon, this Saturday, April 20th.

Under 12: Both Scotstown teams put in great performances last Saturday to defeat their Currin/Clones opposition. Best wishes to Hannah from the visiting team who sustained an injury during one of the games. The next games are at home to Emyvale on April 27th.

Under 10/Under 8: The Under 8’s begin in Kilmore on Saturday morning at 11am, while the Under 10’s have their first Go Games of the year in Clontibret starting at 10am. Contact David McCague on 087-6202242 for more information.

Ladies Senior & Minor: Training continues Tuesday and Friday at 7:30pm.

Ladies U16 & U14: Training every Monday and Thursday at 6:30pm.

Ladies U12: Training every Tuesday at 6:15pm.

Ladies Club Registration: Registration fees of €50 per adult and €35 for under 18’s are now overdue. They are payable to team managers or any committee member.

Handball: There are two county finals fixed for Scotstown this Friday night. First off at 7.30pm is the novice two doubles final between Brendan McNally & Niall Reilly from Corduff and Paul McKenna & Darrin O’Reilly from St Mellan’s. Hopefully this will be followed by the refixed Senior Final between current holder Terry Kiernan from Carrickmacross, and St Mellan’s Padraig McKenna. Last Friday in the Minor Final Emyvale’s Darren Doherty defeated Bawn’s Eugene McGeough at the Scotstown venue. This was an excellent match that went to three games to decide the winner.
