Monaghan’s minor hurlers retained the Ulster Minor Hurling League Division Two title when they won a high-scoring final against Cavan at Breffni Park on Friday evening. Monaghan led narrowly at half-time (3-5 to 2-7) and they hit the Cavan net four times in the second half to wrap up a 7-10 to 3-12 victory. Dónal Meegan hit 3-8 for Monaghan, while Tony Forde scored the other four goals.
Congratulations to manager Arthur Hughes, trainer Alan Ryan, captain Cathal McAnespie and the panel.
Monaghan will now attempt to complete a ‘double double’ when they compete in the Ulster Minor Hurling Shield, which they also won last year.
