Eire Og 2g 11p
Cill Eanna 0g 10p
While this score line would suggest that Eire Og ran out easy winners nothing could be further from the truth as this game was all sguare with 10 mins to go and a fouled ball and a lack of concentration allowed the home side in to to score 2g 1p in the final minutes. Cill Eanna were first to score from the accurate boot of Peter Dooley from 2 frees followed by a Gavin Traynor point. Eire Og added 2 points on 10 and 11minutes after registering 4 wides. Tiernan Duffy powered through the the home steaders defence and after good work from Andrew Kierans sailed one over the bar. Eire Og added another but Cillian Leegan replied. We traded points from 2 frees. Dual player Kevin Crawley reflaced the injured Michael Vernon and Peter Dooley added another and a great save from the colourrful Kevin Quinn from the penalty spot brought the half time score to 7p to 4p in our favour..Eire Og were first to register at the restart with 3 unanswered points before Stephen McMahon put us in the lead again. Tommy Kierans replaced Michael Quinn. Peter Dooley scored 2 points from play to put us 3 points up and 10 minutes to play. Eire Og equalised with a rasper after a lift ball that went unoticed. U12 SPRING LEAGUE:
We played Maghercloone in our second match on Saturday last in Maghercloone. It was very windy which made playing conditions difficult. We were unlucky on this outing as we came up against a very strong team. Our goalie Ciaran O’Reilly was kept very busy throughout the match and while we got a few nice scores, Maghercloone proved too strong in the end. However, our players stayed motivated throughout the match and kept working hard together as a unit. This is encouraging for our future games in the league. We had a good bench of subs which was great and they worked hard when they came on . Our next outing is against Rockcorry on April 27th. Thanks to both the coaches and supporters for encouraging all the lads.
