Monaghan Coaching and Games Development are rolling out a Hurling Club Mentoring Programme to all hurling clubs within the county. This purpose of this programme is to assist club coaches who work with our Juveniles within the county. The programme will be delivered by our GPO Pauric Dowdall and assisted by other full time coaching staff. It is to be delivered over the months of May to September as we understand all the teams are not up and running and different teams will need priority at different times eg u10`s & u14`s within the next month or so and u12`s & u16`s in later in the summer when their respective competitions are up and going.
The Programme is as follows;
- 3 contact sessions with U8/10 Coaches. Club coaches are expected to be present and actively involved in all three sessions. At the first session Pauric will attend and watch your club coaches deliver a coaching session. At the end of that session Pauric will provide feedback and agree with the coaches what he will work on for the next session. Pauric will deliver the second session a week later and club coaches will be actively involved. The third session will involve Pauric attending a session three weeks later to see how coaches are getting on.
- 1 Coaching session with U12/14/16 Teams. Pauric will be available to deliver one coaching session to each of your clubs U12/14/16 teams. Each club will be expected to inform Pauric what they would like him to focus on when delivering the session to each of these groups. Club coaches will be actively involved in each of the sessions.
Each club is expected to contact Pauric to arrange which nights you would like him to attend your club. This email will be followed up by a phone call from Pauric to inform clubs about the programme.
This programme will be a first come first serve basis, so can each club please ensure that they contact Pauric ASAP to arrange dates / times.
