Senior Football

With no official fixture last weekend, Currin played a challenge game against West Cavan team Kildallon in Scotshouse. A lot of players are taking the opportunity to impress and stake a claim for senior team inclusion.

Reserve Senior football

Our Reserve football League Division Three team continued their campaign against Eire Og last Wednesday in Scotshouse. A good performance ensured a good win.

Skills Competition

Congratulations to Jack and Danny Mc Quaid who represented Currin at half time during the Monaghan match on Sunday last. In bitterly cold conditions they performed admirably in front of an appreciative crowd. Well done to both boys on a fine achievment of winning their section to get there..

County football

Last weekend proved to be a good one for Monaghan with the men beating Antrim comprehensively and ensuring quick promotion after just one year. Congratulations to Dick, Stephen and Jack. Its now Croke Park for the final against Meath on Saturday 27th April. This is the place every gaelic footballer wants to play in, so well done boys and enjoy. Also in Clones on Sunday ,the ladies had a facile win over Tyrone to cement their place in the semifinals. Well done to Ellen and Laura and if nothing else it’s good to know that the cross-bar in Clones is made of sound stuff !!

Teresa Rudden, R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Teresa Rudden, Scotshouse and Clones, who passed away last week. The Rudden Family have a long association with the Currin Club both as playing members and club members. We extend our sympathy to her extended family and friends.  Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.

Eugene Molloy, R.I.P.

The Currin club wish to extend their sympathies to the Molloy and Clerkin families on the death of Eugene Molloy in London, last week, at the age of 84. Eugene, like many of his era, emigrated to London at an early age, but always enjoyed his holiday time in Scotshouse and took a keen interest in both Currin and Monaghan football. We particularly commiserate with his son John and daughter Susan. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
